About this session

This event offers a practical conversation on the process of pitching a short film.

What do you need to include in your pitch treatment? Why are story and narrative important? Other topics will include style, casting, crew, locations, budget, audience, the afterlife of film.

The session will be hosted by writer and director Fabia Martin.

Fabia is an award-winning director & writer with a passion for telling unheard stories in fresh ways. Her career began in TV development devising factual programmes for the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, and Vice. Today, she makes films for global brands as well as broadcasters with a focus on real stories and great characters, often with a sprinkling of comedy thrown in. Fabia’s latest short comedy, THE REV, was selected by the BFI for funding and premiered at the London Film Festival. She has been selected as a member of BAFTA Connect 2022, a national talent development scheme, and is also a member of the global filmmakers’ platform, Free The Work.
